Marisa

Instructor

Originally from North Carolina, Marisa most recently resided in Aspen, CO, where she worked as a youth ski instructor. She was an expedition leader while at UNC Chapel Hill, leading multi-day climbing, backpacking, and paddling trips for students. She’s also worked as a coach on a youth climbing team and as the climbing wall manager at UNC’s rock wall. She’s a North Carolina Outward Bound graduate, having done a month-long program in western NC that focused on backpacking, canoeing, and climbing.

  • Education: University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, bachelor’s degree in human development, family studies, and psychology
  • Certifications: Wilderness first responder
  • Favorite outdoor memory: Climbing in the Dolomites in Italy last summer!
  • Favorite outdoor achievement: Learning how to snowboard and ski this past winter season!
  • Favorite place you’ve traveled: Siurana, Spain. I was able to go climbing there with some friends, and it was so beautiful!
  • Favorite hobbies: Climbing, snowboarding, trying new outdoor activities, traveling, and meeting new people
  • What are you most excited for this summer? I’m most looking forward to exploring the outdoors with new people and making lasting memories!
