Instructor

Originally from Woodinville, WA, Nick still resides in the Pacific Northwest. During the school year, Nick works with a middle school in Portland as an outdoor guide; previously, he completed an outdoor educator course with NOLS. His outdoor career began in Vermont, where he was a conservation crew leader working on trails and watershed restoration with the U.S. Forest Service. He then joined the youth development field, working as a wilderness therapy field instructor in Utah where he led hiking trips and other programs for students. Then, he headed to Idaho and Oregon to be part of an AmeriCorps, again as a conservation crew leader. After high school, Nick volunteered with Portland Public Schools, where he worked with teachers to tutor students and create lesson plans.
